The Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: A noteworthy situation in the criminal cases of persons linked to [opposition Prosperous Armenia Party chairman, businessman] Gagik Tsarukyan [who is in pretrial detention] and detained these days.

In particular, when the investigative body entered the houses of various persons within the framework of the criminal proceeding to search, there were guests in the houses of the above-mentioned persons, and as a result, law enforcement officers confiscated the guests' phones and cars.

It means that the investigative body did not take into account any circumstances, and the belongings of persons not related to the criminal proceeding were also confiscated.

We had reported that according to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the RA Investigative Committee has started an active process these days in the [criminal] cases of persons linked to Gagik Tsarukyan and detained.

In particular, the end of the terms of the preventive measures for a number of persons detained within the framework of the criminal proceeding regarding Gagik Tsarukyan is approaching, and, according to our information, the investigative body has started a process regarding the extension of their terms of [pretrial] detention.
