The State Security Service of Azerbaijan on Tuesday informed the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia that a serviceman of an Azerbaijani military unit had left his place of military service under unknown circumstances, the NSS informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

It was not ruled out that he could have illegally crossed the border of Armenia.

After that, the respective authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan carried out search operations.

An at 14:15 on Thursday, 112 emergency hotline of Armenia received a call that an Armenian citizen had been shot in the leg in Shaki village of Syunik Province.

Armenian police teams left for the scene.

Measures have been taken to investigate the incident.

It turned out that this crime was committed by the aforesaid Azerbaijani serviceman, who has been arrested.

The details of the incident have also been presented to the Azerbaijani side.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings in connection with this incident.
