What was planned, I can say that we are moving forward at a fairly rapid pace. Armenian ambassador to the US, Narek Mkrtchyan, on Friday told this to reporters in Yerevan, referring to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project.
“If we look at how far the project has progressed, what development we have recorded in a year, I must say that we have pretty big results for a project of this scale. You know, there is a study now, which I think will be summarized in the next one or two months, after which I think it will be possible to see real steps in early 2027,” Mkrtchyan said.
“The project has many layers, until its study is ready and the phases of various actions arising from that study will not be possible. For example, how long does it take to estimate the cost of a typical building? Imagine how many layers there are there; its study has been ordered. You know, the American company AECOM is conducting it, soon its results will be available, the assessment will be carried out, after which it will already move to the practical phase,” he noted.
“But before that, all the formalities, the registration of the TRIPP Development Company with American financial institutions, all its details... we have now gone through all the phases, numerous delegations have visited Washington from our side, and from Washington they have had various interdepartmental meetings, and now the program has matured, it has already reached the phase of practical implementation, which we think will be possible to hold the groundbreaking ceremony early next year,” added the Armenian ambassador to the US.
