The Israeli Jewish settler who pepper-sprayed a 9-year-old Christian Armenian boy in Jerusalem has been released with a restraining order and four days of house arrest as the case proceeds, reported Kegham Balian, an Armenian journalist who lives in Israel..
“Had he been an Armenian man attacking a Jewish boy, [Israeli national security minister Itamar] Ben-Gvir would've put him in a hole,” Balian added.
As reported earlier, Israeli police had announced the arrest of a man who pepper-sprayed a 9-year-old Armenian boy in Jerusalem’s Mamilla area on Yom Kippur for riding a bike and wearing headphones on the holy day.
The suspect was identified as a 22-year-old from the Ganei Modi’in settlement, comprising mostly ultra-Orthodox Haredi Jews, near Jerusalem.
Police had added that the suspect was arrested in northern Israel, where he had been for several days.
