Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a comprehensive security review of flights to Israel following the incident on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the prime minister's office said, Fox News reports.

Netanyahu “has instructed the head of the National Security Council, Shmuel Ben Ezra, to appoint an examiner to conduct a thorough review of all security aspects of foreign civil aviation to Israel,” a statement from the premier’s office said.

On September 30, an emergency alert, including a possible hijacking attempt, was issued in Jordanian airspace from a plane flying from the UAE to Israel. Later it became known that one of the pilots had stabbed his colleague when he tried to take control of the plane. The attacker was eventually rendered ineffective by the pilot and passengers. The plane then made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
