Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The controversial report published by the Parliamentary Assembly [of the Council] of Europe (PACE) delegate Damien Cottier, despite its soft and diplomatic wording, essentially revealed the chain of illegalities under which the recent electoral processes took place [in Armenia].
(...).
In summary, there is an obvious dissonance between the facts set out in the PACE report and the “generally positive” conclusion given at the end. And the main recording is that under the conditions of the entire authorities’ apparatus, the law enforcement and total pressure, the opposition front managed to ensure that the authorities were unable to achieve an absolute victory and, in fact, did not even overcome the 50% threshold [in parliament].
(...).
[Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan and his team are increasingly sinking into a geopolitical and domestic political impasse: on the one hand, relations deteriorating with Russia day by day, on the other hand, gradually growing distrust of them in Europe, and most importantly, a complete lack of internal legitimacy due to reproduction by way of state levers and violence.
The current regime [in Armenia] has actually lost all sources of legitimacy of power, both internal (popular support) and external (main geopolitical centers). This indicates that in the upcoming political processes, weighty and serious units are fully capable of taking this power hanging in the air and implementing radical changes in the country.
