Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday declined to answer Armenian News-NEWS.am’s question about whether there has already been a decision on what the fate will be of the Azerbaijani soldier who had crossed the Armenian border.

“We have a [press] briefing on Thursday,” the premier said only.

And when asked whether there has already been a decision on whether or not this Azerbaijani will be extradited, Pashinyan did not answer and left.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that on October 1, Azerbaijani soldier Nasimi Musayev had illegally entered a house in Shaki village of Sisian community of Armenia’s Syunik Province.

But after being discovered, he had opened fire.

Ani Avetisyan, born in 1987, was injured as a result of the shooting.

The Azerbaijani then had fled.

Subsequently, however, Musayev was found and caught in another house in Shaki.

Criminal proceedings have been launched against him under five articles of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and he has been detained for two months.

Arpi Avetisyan, the sister of the woman who was shot by the Azerbaijani soldier, had told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the Azerbaijani soldier had taken her sister’s children hostage, and their mother had lost three fingers on her left hand while protecting them. And when the Azerbaijani wanted to reload his rifle, the Armenian woman had struck him with a knife several times. When the mother had fainted, her son had punched the Azerbaijani soldier in the head, resulting in a fractured wrist.
