Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan received a delegation led by Holger Kray, the World Bank's Regional Manager for Agriculture and Food in Europe and Central Asia.
At the beginning of the talk, Khojoyan lauded the effective partnership established between the World Bank and Armenia, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
Then, the parties discussed the progress of joint programs in the agri-food sector and the prospects for further expansion.
The deputy minister of economy briefed the guests on the priorities of economic development outlined in the 2026–2031 program of the Armenian government and the main directions of their implementation.
Khojoyan noted that the Armenian government has adopted a policy of developing effective agriculture, producing competitive and high-value goods, as well as forming a technologically advanced and modern agricultural system.
The two parties emphasized the importance of developing “smart,” climate-resilient agriculture, effective management of land and water resources, as well as strengthening food systems.
In turn, Holger Kray reaffirmed the World Bank’s readiness to continue assisting strategic reforms in Armenia’s agricultural sector. He lauded the dynamics of the work being carried out and stressed the importance of strengthening agri-food value chains and increasing the competitiveness of local products.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to actively continue Armenia’s cooperation with the World Bank in order to deepen joint work in areas of mutual interest, effectively implement existing programs, and promote new initiatives.
