The Prosecutor's Office of Armenia is investigating the report "On the Crisis Arisen in the Church as a Result of the Activities of the De facto Head of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and a Number of High-ranking Clergy and Ways to Resolve It," the Prosecutor's Office informed in response to a request from RFE/RL.

The majority of the information included in this approximately 80-page document is based on press reports from various years, which contain alleged elements of an apparent crime; in particular, acts directed against pedophilia/sexual integrity. RFE/RL had asked whether the Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation into the reports included in the aforementioned report that contained alleged elements of a crime.

The Prosecutor's Office left unanswered the questions: if the mentioned reports were investigated, were criminal proceedings initiated as a result of them? Under which articles? And are there any defendants involved and under which article? Also, RFE/RL had asked to clarify if the aforesaid reports were previously the subject of investigation, then why? The Prosecutor's Office did not address this question either.
