YEREVAN. – No foreign currency trading was conducted Wednesday at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange. And this was because the US dollar was offered at a very high exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD): AMD 404/1$.
Although some commercial banks were prepared to buy the dollar at AMD 403/1$, no such offer was made.
And the US currency’s purchase exchange rate rose up to AMD 402.5/1$, in Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, and the minimum selling rate is at AMD 404/1$.
