The venue for the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the “3+3” regional cooperation platform should be decided by Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Mikhail Kalugin, Director of the Fourth CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti. “Baku and Yerevan should now decide where the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the ‘3+3’ will be held.

We [i.e. Russia] are ready to provide the necessary assistance to our partners,” the Russian diplomat said. As per Kalugin, cooperation within this format is expanding. In June, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the “3+3” expert “path” was launched, with the participation of political scientists from all six “3+3”countries, including Georgia.

In addition, the first meeting within this format is planned this month in Moscow at the "Russian Energy Week" international forum, and this meeting will be dedicated to energy cooperation, the Russian diplomat said.
