The head of Russian Railways company will visit Armenia next week, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a press briefing on Thursday, responding to a question about the possible participation of the Russian side in the restoration of the Gyumri-Kars railway section.

According to the Armenian premier, the agreement on this visit was reached during the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) meeting in Bishkek. He noted that a consultation will be held during the visit, the results of which will be used in order to draw conclusions, including on the aforementioned matter.

Pashinyan added that a Kazakh company has also shown interest in the restoration of Armenia’s Akhurik and Yeraskh railway sections.

And regarding his earlier statement that Armenia will have an electricity deficit as a result of investment programs—i.e. high-tech projects—and exactly when this will happen, the prime minister said that such matters are considered on a ten-year basis.
