Armenia has simplified the process of issuing electronic visas for citizens of India, Iraq, and Egypt. The respective decision was made at the Armenian government’s Cabinet session Thursday.

In particular, the additional requirements—established in 2024—for obtaining an Armenian electronic visa for citizens of the aforementioned countries, and which implied mandatory travel insurance and several other documents, have been canceled.

It is noted that the previously introduced additional requirements may hinder the comprehensive application of visa privileges established by the Armenian government.

It is emphasized that the adoption of this decision will ensure the application of the Armenian state duty exemption privilege for those foreigners for whom an entry visa regime is in force, who are arriving in Armenia to participate in the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Yerevan from October 19 to 30, and the events to be held within its framework.
