Speaker Ruben Rubinyan of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia has signed an order approving the composition of the “[NA] Inquiry committee to study the crisis in the [Armenian Apostolic] Church as a result of the activities of a number of clergymen of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and the issues of failure to fulfill the exclusive mission of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in the spiritual life of the Armenian people, the development of their national culture, and the preservation of national identity.”

Accordingly, this inquiry committee will be chaired by ruling majority faction MP Arman Yeghoyan.

The other members of this inquiry committee will also be solely ruling majority faction lawmakers, as opposition MPs have refused to join this committee.
