There were dozens of people with Russian passports participating in the parliamentary elections [in Armenia on June 7]. Now who did [Russian President] Vladimir Putin mean? Ask him directly. Opposition Strong Armenia party chairman Samvel Karapetyan on Friday told this to reporters.

And to the remark that the recent Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) report on the aforesaid parliamentary elections states that an external force—meaning Russia—tried to have an impact on these elections, applied economic restrictions on Armenia, and did so in favor of the Armenian opposition forces, Karapetyan responded: “You all saw that the Europeans were fighting against us and supporting [PM Nikol] Pashinyan openly on every occasion. They were supporting before Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)], and now they destroyed Artsakh, and now they support Armenia to be destroyed. That is why we must be very careful with such statements, because it has never benefited us.”
