Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation, the Iranian presidential press service reports.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and a regional summit on Caspian Sea environmental protection, in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the Iranian president highlighted the considerable potential for cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan, expressing hope that bilateral relations would continue to expand across all fields.

He emphasized the importance of closer engagement between the two neighbors, saying Iran and Armenia should strengthen cooperation and interaction. President Pezeshkian also underscored the role of coordination, mutual understanding and continued communication in consolidating ties between the two countries.

The Iranian president said greater coordination and closer collaboration would help build mutual trust, deepen understanding and further strengthen bilateral relations. He also stressed the need to maintain stable and lasting relations between Tehran and Yerevan, reaffirming Iran's readiness to expand cooperation with Armenia.
