Iran has withstood military conflict with the US and Israel and thwarted the adversaries' plans, said Brigadier General Hassan Hassanzadeh, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander in Greater Tehran, reports Mehr.

According to him, Iran is one of the world’s top four powers, and during the war, the country not only withstood the attacks, but also gave a "crushing" response to the adversary. Hassanzadeh was speaking at a local event dedicated to the memory of those killed in the eight-year Iran-Iraq war—known in Iran as the “Sacred Defense”—as well as in recent military conflicts involving the US and Israel.

As per the general, Iran's enemies had developed complicated and complex plots aimed at toppling the Islamic Establishment and assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and high-ranking military commanders, destroying missiles, air defenses, nuclear sites, and infrastructures.

"Relying upon the assistance of the God Almighty, not only did the enemy fail to achieve its sinister objectives, but also Islamic Iran stood firm with authority, and gave a crushing and painful response to the enemy," Hassanzadeh said. Also, he highlighted the achievements of the IRGC during the hostilities; in particular, the production of missiles and drones.

The general lauded the initiatives and actions of the Iranian military, which participated in the confrontation with the United States—which is called the "Great Satan" in Iran. Hassanzadeh called on Iranian citizens to “maintain unity, amity, faith and readiness in the face of enemies.” According to him, “If Iranian nation maintains its faith and readiness, the enemy will continue to fail in its calculations.”
