Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan posted a video on his Facebook page, and spoke about what he believes peace should look like after the signing and ratification of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.
“Armenia should have a territory of 29,743 square kilometers, the delimitation and demarcation of borders based on the Alma-Ata Declaration [of December 21, 1991] should take place with this logic,” the Armenian premier said.
Pashinyan spoke about enclaves and exclaves, too. According to him, they should not exist.
“That is, the two countries—Armenia and Azerbaijan—should carry out an exchange of territories of precise sizes. All roads and communication routes should be open within the framework of TRIPP [i.e. the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity regional transport project]—but not only TRIPP,” Pashinyan said.
Armenia and Azerbaijan, as per the Armenian prime minister, should not make any demands on each other and should leave each other alone on all matters.
“No demands, including Karabakh, Gardman-Shirvan-Nakhchivan logic, or ‘Western Azerbaijan’ logic,” he added.
“Now the most important question: is there a real opportunity to give peace this look? Based on the results of my [recent] meeting with the Azerbaijani president in Turkmenistan, I have the initial impression that we have the opportunity to give peace this look, and we will be busy in the near future implementing that opportunity, making that opportunity a reality,” the Armenian premier concluded.
