Armenia’s Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan, along with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, solemnly opened the national pavilion of Armenia at the Blue Zone of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, in Yerevan.

“It was a special honor to present Armenia to the UN Secretary General, with its rich and diverse natural landscape, millennial history, cultural heritage, and national identity,” Matevosyan noted.

“The pavilion brings together everything that makes Armenia special: the exceptional beauty of nature, the rich historical and cultural heritage, the traditions and values formed over the centuries.

During the conference, the national pavilion of Armenia will become an important platform for presenting our country to the international community, discovering the richness of Armenia’s nature and culture, as well as establishing new connections and creating opportunities for cooperation.

This is another opportunity to present Armenia to the world as a country with rich nature, unique culture and historical heritage, which is hosting one of the most important global conferences aimed at preserving biodiversity,” the environment minister of Armenia added.
