Iran has concerns about any US presence in the region and around Iran. But on this specific issue, Iran is in close contact with its Armenian friends and trusts them. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on Friday stated in response to a question from Armenian News-NEWS.am, in Yerevan.

He noted this, addressing the question of whether Iran has concerns about the US presence in the region, also taking into account the recent visits of Armenian officials to Iran and the recent talks between Armenia and Iran.

Iran knows that Armenia is not doing anything against Iran’s security. Thus, Iran continues its consultations with the Armenian authorities. The Armenian foreign minister was in Tehran recently; they had good consultations. And today, the Iranian president will meet with the Armenian prime minister. The two countries are in close contact, the Iranian foreign minister added.
