A delegation led by Beijing Vice Mayor Wen Xian has arrived in Yerevan within the framework of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.

In the area of Yerevan Lake reservoir, the delegation was welcomed by the acting head of the environmental protection department of the Yerevan Municipality, Sirarpi Haykazyan.

The key issues regarding quality of the lake's water, the seismic stability of the reservoir, and the cleaning of sediments were presented. Also, the concept of the upcoming improvement was presented in order to make Yerevan Lake and the adjacent area cleaner, more up-kept, and more appealing.

In addition, Beijing's experience in cleaning rivers and water basins and the possibilities of its application in Yerevan were discussed.
