Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The expenses made by Armenia on the organizing of COP17 [i.e. the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity] smell of corruption and waste. While the opposition is trying to calculate the total amount of expenses, we learn about new expenses.

A week ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, without a tender, signed a contract with Gaspartour LLC for the purchase of airline tickets. (...). Most [of them] are flights for arriving in Armenia from African cities, on which Africans have arrived to participate in COP17 [in Yerevan] at the expense of Armenia’s budget.

8,517,909 [i.e. about $23,600] drams were spent on these airline tickets. Let us note that this is not included in the previously announced expenses of 30-50 million [US] dollars.
