Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Azerbaijan is a stable and reliable partner for Moscow in many areas. Also, he emphasized the active dialogue with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

These statements were made on Tuesday during the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Moscow. Putin stressed the importance of Russia’s collaboration with Azerbaijan and expressed interest in further developing bilateral relations, including in the energy sector.

Russia and Azerbaijan participate in international energy cooperation, and issues of cooperation between the two countries were also discussed within the framework of the GECF events—during meetings of representatives of sectoral departments. The Russian president added that Russia supplies Turkey with up to 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
