During laying a sewer line on a Yerevan street, the excavated section collapsed, resulting in two injuries, informed Julieta Azaryan, the press secretary of the mayor of the Armenian capital.

One of them has died, while the injuries of the other are not life threatening, and this person was taken to a medical center, Azaryan added.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that at around 12:50pm on Thursday, the 112 hotline of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report that a collapse had occurred on a street in Yerevan, and people were trapped under it.

Firefighters, rescuers, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

According to preliminary information, there are two injured.
