The Government of the Republic of Armenia has effectively already begun implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the statement on November 2 during a joint meeting of the parliamentary standing committees discussing the draft state budget for 2027.
“Even before the next stages of the process are organised, the Armenian government will take the initiative to commission design work for the railway, highway and power transmission lines under the TRIPP project. We do not want to waste time. Once the TRIPP development company is established, the Armenian government will hand over the work already completed to it,” the prime minister said.
Pashinyan stressed that the project would enable Armenia to overcome the blockade that has persisted for more than 30 years.
“There is no doubt that the implementation of the TRIPP project will unblock Armenia in all directions, both East-West and North-South. However, opening up all these routes does not mean that all infrastructure will become part of the TRIPP project. The project will include the Yeraskh–Karchavan railway, as well as power transmission lines and a highway. Issues concerning gas and oil pipelines will be discussed at a later stage,” the prime minister said.
