US President Donald Trump said on November 3 that he was “absolutely willing” to accept the results of the US midterm elections and work with Democrats.
“We’ll, you know, look forward to working with them,” he said in a phone interview with The New York Times. “We’ll probably work something out.”
Trump attributed the Republicans’ setbacks in the elections to the fact that his name was not on the ballot. He also stressed that he did not regret endorsing candidates, including South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
On November 3, analytics firm Decision Desk HQ reported that Democrats had an 84% chance of gaining control of the House of Representatives following the US midterm elections. The Republican Party’s chances were estimated at 16%.
