YEREVAN.- Murderer of two warrant officers of the Russian Federal Security Service’s border department was sentenced to life term on Thursday.

The court of Yerevan’s Erebuni and Nubarashen districts passed a verdict against M. Bashchkov.

The Prosecutor Generаl’s office said in 2009 Bashchkov took а $6 million dram loan in Unibank.  

He borrowed 20,000 Russian rubles from his army friend A. Zakharyan but managed to return only part of the amount. After a quarrel over money with Zakharyan, M. Bashchkov decided to kill him.

Illegally penetrating into the territory of a military unit, Bashchkov crawled through a window and attacked Zakharyan inflicting 11 knife wounds. Then, he also killed officer Arthur Yenokyan who rushed to help Zakharyan.
