YEREVAN. – No trading was conducted Thursday at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange, and this was due to a lack of US dollar offer.   

The dollar was demanded against the Armenian dram (AMD) at AMD 406.25/1$, which exceeds Wednesday’s average stock exchange rate of AMD 405.64/1$.      

The exchange offices have raised the dollar’s purchase exchange rate, but the selling rate is virtually the same. Cash dollar is bought at AMD 405-406/1$ and sold at AMD 407-408/1$.         

To note, the volume of circulated cash dram has reduced in recent weeks, and this could contribute to its strengthening.
