YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on Wednesday received Kuwaiti Ambassador Bassam Muhammad Alqabandi, and noted that Armenia attaches great importance to developing ties with the Arab states in the Persian Gulf.    

Abrahamyan underscored the cooperation with Kuwait, the relations between the parliaments of both countries, and the interaction within international parliamentary organizations. NA chairman also informed that the Armenia-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group is already formed in Armenia’s newly-elect parliament, NA Press Service informs.    

In his turn, the Ambassador conveyed to Hovik Abrahamyan Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Ahmed Al-Sadoun’s congratulations and well wishes to Abrahamyan for his reelection as Armenian NA Speaker, and handed Al-Sadoun’s invitation extended to Abrahamyan to visit Kuwait.

Bassam Muhammad Alqabandi stressed that his country attaches great importance to developing partnership with Armenia, and noted that his mission will be to contribute to the development of Armenian-Kuwaiti ties. Also, the Ambassador expressed a conviction that developing interparliamentary relations is important in terms of deepening interstate ties.
