YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government program for 2012-2017 is rather modest, main goals on macro-economic indicators are quite achievable, ex-head of the Central Bank of Armenia Bagrat Asatryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Moreover, when the current one is compared to previous five-year programs, it is not difficult to notice that main indicators, in particular economy growth speed, volumes of export and investments, level of payment to the state employees and social indexes are quite low,” Asatryan said. “What is the purpose of discussions about cutting down corruption or regulating monopoly, cutting down shadow economy, institutional development? These provisions are simply copied from previous programs, while no real results have been achieved. Armenia needs fundamental changes, which is possible firstly through existence of political will.”

To note, the program was approved by the parliament on Thursday.
