YEREVAN. – It has become apparent that Armenia’s National Assembly still preserves the good Soviet traditions and rents apartments—in the whereabouts of US$ 120 per month—for those MPs who have moved to capital city Yerevan, who are not from Yerevan, and have no means of living, Hraparak daily writes. 

“In response to our correspondent’s query as to whether there are many such [MPs] in the Armenian Parliament, they said from the Parliament that so far they received [such] petition from three people: Edmon Marukyan, Ishkhan Khachatryan, Khachik Harutyunyan.  

Within the extent of the means provided, they were able to rent an apartment at around the [suburban] Leningrad Street—and not in the downtown [area]—and work as MPs,” Hraparak writes.
