YEREVAN.- U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told on his video blog about Independence Day reception at the Embassy.

The celebration with music, traditional barbecue and fireworks brought together many guests, including Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

“It was my pleasure to celebrate the holiday with many of my Armenian and American friends and colleagues. I was especially grateful to Foreign Minister Nalbandian for joining me on the stage and for his kind words,” he said.

Ambassador Heffern recalled this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Armenia-US diplomatic relations.

“Secretary Clinton now completed her second visit to Armenia as Secretary of State and it demonstrated once again the commitment of the Obama administration to this important relationship,” Ambassador said.

He stressed there is much to be proud about this relationship and “our Independence Day celebration symbolized this ongoing partnership based on shared values”.
