The Azerbaijani military serviceman, who was allegedly wounded and missing at the neutral zone, was found dead.   

According to Azerbaijani media, first, Elchin Orujev’s dead body was transferred to the military unit where he was serving, and subsequently taken to his place of birth, the Seydimli village. 

To note, as per SalamNews, Elchin Orujev, 21, a resident of Seydimli village of the Terter Region, was wounded in the early morning hours of Monday, and in the direction of Tovuz.   

And the Armenian side had announced that it was not involved in this incident. 

“If the soldier is wounded and this occurred as a result of the adversary’s provocative actions—irrespective of where the incident transpired—, the blame falls squarely upon the Azerbaijani side,” Armenian Defense Minister’s Press Secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan had stated in this regard.

But the question is: If the Azerbaijani military serviceman was wounded at the neutral zone, as SalamNews corroborates, why was he there in the first place, and at nighttime?  

There are numerous cases when Azerbaijani soldiers were wounded while crossing mined fields and carrying out provocative operations at the Armenian side. And this new incident could be a provocation attempt, too.
