YEREVAN. – With an official bulletin, the Syrian Embassy in Armenia has informed about Syria’s Consul to Armenia, Mohamed Hossam Hafez ending his diplomatic mission in Yerevan, Armenia’s MFA Press Secretary Tigran Balayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

To note, Al Jazeera television had disseminated information that Hossam Hafez has sided with Syria’s opposition.    

The clashes in Syria continue ever since March 2011 and, according to the United Nations reports, 16,000 Syrians have lost their lives as a result of these incidents.

A total of 60-70 thousand Armenians live in Syria, and they comprise 0.5 percent of the country’s population.
