YEREVAN. - Candlelight vigil commemorating Vahe Avetyan’s 40th day of burial was held near the Harsnakar restaurant in Yerevan on Tuesday. The event was followed by a protest action in Yerevan’s Avan district.

It was raining severely during the action, however, it did not stop the participants. To note, several dozens of police employees were controlling the Harsnakar restaurant territory. The police did not allow holding the protest action near the house of the aforesaid restaurant owner Ruben Hayrapetyan. However, the activists decided simply to march near Hayrapetyan’s house. 

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an incident had occurred at Yerevan’s Harsnaqar Restaurant on June 17, where several military doctors including Edgar Mikoyan, Arkadi Aghajanyan, Garik Soghomonyan, Artak Bayadyan and Vahe Avetyan were brutally beaten by Hayrapetyan’s security personnel. Vahe Avetyan died in hospital on June 29. The Police have detained six people.
