US President Barack Obama approved on Friday a new package of sanctions against Iran.

Washington made one more step to increase pressure on Iran, Ria Novosti reports. The bill envisaging sanctions against foreign companies that trade with Iran, was approved by U.S. Congress last week.

The measures provides sanctions against the firms cooperating with Iranian companies in the field of energy industry.

Obama noted that Washington is showing the Iranian government they would increase pressure and isolation would become deeper.
