The agreement on free trade zone in CIS area will come into effect in mid September, representative of CIS executive committee said.

Andrey Kushnirenko said only Ukraine, Russia and Belarus have ratified the agreement so far.

“We expect Armenia and Kazakhstan to ratify the agreement this September. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will join us by the end of this year,” he said.

During his visit to Armenia last month, Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin stressed the Armenian government is elaborating documents on the agreement on free trade zone within CIS and the document will be obviously ratified during the autumn session. Free trade zone agreement is developed to reduce all trade fees on a number of goods between the countries.
