YEREVAN. – Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Director Maurin Sitorus.

“We underscore the future development of our ties with the Asian Development Bank. Those projects, which we jointly carry out in Armenia, are of vital importance for our country,” said Sargsyan.

In his turn, Maurin Sitorus highly evaluated ADB’s cooperation with Armenia, and expressed a satisfaction with all the joint projects, the Government press service informs.

“I would like to congratulate you for recording an excellent economic performance and an impressive economic growth,” ADB Executive Director noted.

Tigran Sargsyan underscored the need to direct the Asian Development Bank’s grants toward the establishment of Armenia’s private sector.

Also, discussing the proposal to convene ADB’s annual conference in Baku, either in 2015 or 2016, Armenia’s PM noted that the country is not against this, but Armenia will attend this conference only if the safety of its delegation is ensured and Azerbaijan would not use this platform to make political statements.

In addition, Tigran Sargsyan proposed ADB to actively participate in the donors’ conference to be convened in Armenia.
