YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan convened a session of the National Security Council on Wednesday.

Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, PM Tigran Sargsyan, Natioanl Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan, Deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan, MOD Seyran Ohanyan, FM Edward Nalbandian and other high-ranking officials took part in the session, presidential press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Among the issues discussed during the session was the project of national strategy for protecting human rights in the presence of the Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan. The members also discussed the upcoming CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) trainings scheduled for October.  

The President also touched upon the local self-governmental elections held in Sept. 9 and stated that they passed in a very organized way without any serious incidents.
