YEREVAN.- CSTO’s Collective Rapid Reaction Force military exercise titled “Cooperation 2012” kicked off in Armenia on Saturday morning. The commander of the joint forces is Major General Kamo Kochunts.

About 2,000 troops from Armenia and other CSTO states participate in maneuvers.

During the exercise to be held from September 15 to 19 September the units of CSTO CRRF will work out use of force and means of collective security in the Caucasus region. On September 15-17 heads of the exercise will hold dvelopment and planning of joint operations.

The representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross will also take part in the maneuvers.

The military exercise is conducted according to a plan of joint activities of operational and combat training of authorities and groups of forces and means of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2012.
