YEREVAN. – The electronic news media have inaccurately reported that, with the order of Armenia’s Minister of Health, minimum and maximum prices have been set for the drugs and drug substances that are sold in Armenia, the Ministry informs.   

According to the Ministry, such prices have not been prescribed and, instead—and with the Minister’s order—, solely the minimum and maximum fees for paid services in hospitals have been specified.   

At the same time, and to solve the matter of medication affordability for the public, Armenia’s Health Minister instructed to study the European track-record for regulating drug prices, and, based upon the findings, appropriate provisions will be included in Armenia’s draft law “On Drugs.”

Also upon the Minister’s instruction, the activities of diagnostic laboratories are being studied as well, to assure their common and legalized standards.
