YEREVAN.- Zvartnots international airport suspended  the flights of Armavia air company on Thursday.

“Zvartnots will not serve the Armavia flights because of accommodated debts. Armavia has considerably exceeded the limit provided by the agreement,” spokesperson for Zvartnots airport Gevorg Abrahamyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Abrahamyan said the airport allowed operating flight on Wednesday evening for passengers to avoid inconvenience. Yerevan’s airport will serve the flights if Armavia transfers certain amount, he added.

Armavia-Zvartnots conflict continues for several months. Earlier Zvartnots suspended the flights because of air company’s debts but then the sides started talks and seemed to reach an agreement.

Owner of Armavia Mikhail Baghdasarov said the company will go into bankruptcy and shut down unless Zvartnots Airport changes its price policy.

“Unless we come to an agreement we will declare bankruptcy, return the air-tickets, sell the airplanes and settle the debts,” said Baghdasarov.
