MOSCOW. - Russian Deputy FM Grigory Karasin received on Tuesday the EU Special Representatives for the South Caucasus Philippe Lefort.

The officials exchanged views on the South Caucasian problems, including the current stage of the Karabakh peace process, Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

In August in an interview with the Voice of Russia, Karasina said Russia will do its best for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and bringing closer positions of the sides.

“Both Armenia and Azerbaijan are our close CIS partners. We value relations both with Yerevan and Baku. We are sparing no effort fairly and honestly to bring closer positions of the sides on Karabakh issue,” he said.
