RUSTAVI. – The practical phase of NATO’s “Georgia 2012” field training is continuing in that country, and rescue squads from Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) are taking part in it.   

The squad commanders received new instructions since Wednesday morning, in connection with the activities that are underway at the disaster zone affected by the earthquake scenario, MES representative informed.   

To note, in line with the scenario of “Georgia 2012” field training, a strong provisional earthquake has struck Georgia’s central part, and search and rescue teams from a variety of countries have rushed to provide help. According to the enactment, there are numerous casualties, injuries, and destruction. Also, this provisional quake has caused leakage of hazardous chemical substances, traffic accidents, floods, and fires.
