YEREVAN. – Armenia’s First President and leader of opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan met the U.S. Ambassador John Heffern on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the ANC leader touched in details upon Armenia’s domestic-political issues, in particular, the upcoming presidential elections, the deteriorated social-economic situation in the country.  Ter-Petrosyan expressed his opinion about Armenia’s future and development prospects, the ANC press service informs. Ter-Petrosyan especially stated the importance of struggling against total corruption and fixed priority steps to stop it.

U.S. Embassy Yerevan representative Brian Roraff, ANC parliamentary group head Levon Zurabyan and head of the ANC central office Avetis Avagyan also participated in the meeting.
