YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Monday received a delegation led by Chalit Damrongsak, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Karapetyan welcomed the delegation, which arrived in Armenia to attend meeting of the Armenian-Thai Joint Working Group on Agricultural Affairs, and stressed that this cooperation will contribute to agricultural development in both countries, the Agriculture Ministry press service informs.   

The Minister briefly presented Armenia’s present-day agricultural situation and the Government steps toward agricultural production and rural development. Also, he noted that Armenia is interested in founding cooperatives and underscored the Thai track-record in this regard.  

In his turn, Chalit Damrongsak likewise pointed to the need for bilateral collaboration. He added that during the aforesaid meeting, which will get underway on Monday, the attendees will adopt decisions on implementing joint programs.  

Separately, Sergo Karapetyan awarded the Armenian Agriculture Ministry’s Certificate of Gratitude to Thai delegation member Rathana Thanomsakuti for her assistance in the development of agricultural cooperation between Armenia and Thailand.  

Also, the Minister wished success to the Thai delegation and the participants in the meeting of the Armenian-Thai Joint Working Group on Agricultural Affairs.
