YEREVAN. – The American national currency is losing ground to the Armenian dram (AMD) for the third consecutive day at Armenia’s financial market.

The dollar’s average exchange rate against the dram comprised AMD 404.80/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Thursday; this is a 0.21-percent—or a 0.95-point—drop from the previous trading session on Wednesday.

The US currency’s exchange rate against the dram fell by nearly AMD 2 this week at NASDAQ OMX Armenia.

Thursday’s sales totaled $7.9 million at the stock exchange. The rise in the offer rate of the dollar is due to the pre-New Year trading.

In Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, the American currency can be purchased at AMD 406/$1 from the exchange offices, and it is bought at AMD 403/$1 and maximum at AMD 404/$1.
