YEREVAN. - Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) has made a statement about the upcoming presidential elections in Armenia.

As it is noted in a statement, after detailed discussion of the issue on the format of the ARF participation in the upcoming presidential elections of 2013, the ARF Supreme Assembly stresses:

In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Assembly in June this year, the ARF Supreme Body initiated the formation of unanimity around a common political agenda. Discussions were held with various political forces, in attempt to reach a consensus on the political platform and act as a united opposition.

This initiative and the proposed agenda found positive response: the prerequisites for a productive process were created. An opportunity to regain the trust of the people in the elections, which had been lost, to create a better political environment to hold elections with real opponents, to create the possibility of change of power came forward. However, the binding process of uniting with the nomination of a particular candidate has led to the unsatisfying consequence and the decision to participate in the elections with a common agenda has not found its logical conclusion.

In these circumstances, the Supreme Assembly of ARF has made the following decisions:

1. At the presidential election in 2013 not to nominate its own candidate.

2. To authorize the High Body to monitor the electoral process and in the proper form to target systems and organizational structure of ARF.

3. Using all the political opportunities in the future to achieve the implementation of seven points proposed by the party.
