STEPANAKERT. – The adversary violated the ceasefire, at the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, close to 14,000 times since the beginning of 2012, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army reports.

During this time, more than 68,700 shots were fired in the direction of Armenian positions, and by way of different-caliber artillery weapons. The adversary breached the truce more intensively during national events and public holidays and their preceding period.   

Despite such “activeness” by the adversary, the Defense Army vanguard units honored the ceasefire, over the course of the entire year, they fully controlled the situation at line of contact with the adversary and, when necessary, took preventive actions and compelled the adversary to abandon its objectives.
