As NEWS.am reported previously, March 8, at 4:32 local time, 5.9 magnitude powerful earthquake hit Elazig Province, eastern Turkey, killing 51 people.

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake epicenter was 70 km of the north-east of the administrative center Elazig, at the depth of 10 kilometers. Over 20 aftershocks were registered in the region. The tremors were felt in Tunceli, Bingol and Diyarbakır provinces. Several buildings in the nearby villages collapsed.
